Time to take the plunge

I'm sorry, I just had to use that pun.

It's time for me to start swimming.

I am going for the first time tomorrow morning.

I have reached this decision for a number of reasons:
At some stage I rashly said I would start swimming when I was under 100kg;
I had a programme review with my trainer chap this morning. He tortured me and I don't feel like the gym tomorrow;
Just over 4 months till the triathlon - I'd better find out if I can remember how to swim and book some lessons;
I've got to do it some time!

So, this morning, I bought a swim cap. It's not a gorgeous one like M found.

But it is red, so I'll swim faster.

splash splash so envy u being able to go to the pool ours doesn't even open until Labour weekend then it will take a good while for it to warm up. I am planning a trip to the pool when I go out of town again for the day on Tuesday next week.

Good on you! I tried swimming lessons but I think I ended up drinking half the pool - well that's what it felt like! Think I will stick to aqua sessions.

Oooh, I love swimming when I actually make the effort to get out there and do it!

Please keep me posted on how you go! I reeeally hope you enjoy it. And you can always enlist that son of your to help with technique and stuff... surely he'd be a bit of a swimmer?

They say that in a competition the side that wears red is more likely to win... good decision on the colour, look out other triathletes!

I love aqua jogging. Tell ya why. Cause I wear glasses, one early morning on my way back to the changing room I miscalculated the wrong door. Ended up in the mens changing room. Didn't realise my mistake till I left the booth. By which time my glasses were back on my head. Too scared to show my face there for six months. Now aqua jogging - I wear my glasses in the pool. Happy swimtime. It's a brilliant way to tone.

RED will definately make you go faster. You are very brave. You do realise that I have followed your trend in going to gym and now I will need to think about swimming, in summer of course. Gee Sue the things you inspire me to try!!!

So how's the swimming going? Actually..I think I see the heading of the next post. Will go find out.
