Fattening the Christmas turkey?

Oh dear, I'd forgotten just how much we all eat at this time of year.

The social scene for next week has ramped up considerably. In the next seven days I have: wine-tasting and dinner in the Wairarapa, Printers' Federation day at the races, a big barbecue with some printers and friends, a supplier lunch, day in the corporate box at the races, the first of my work Xmas dinners!

And next week is a recovery week in the triathlon training, so I will be doing LESS exercise than usual!

By following my Christmas plan I've shown a very pleasing 1.3kg loss in the last week.

Considerable will-power will be needed to survive the next week unscathed. Note to self: always, always, always drink a big glass of water between glasses of wine.

The next thing to face will be the Xmas gifts. Being in production I get lots of gifts from suppliers and clients. I consider it just reward for the amount of work I do - it's a job no-one else wants for 11 months of the year.

Most of these presents will involve food and alcohol. So, they'll all go in a box to take on the camping trip and contribute to the 'group fund'. I'm sure someone else will sacrifice themselves for me.

I was hoping I might be an 80's girl by the end of next week. Really, I'll just be happy to make it to the end of the week without catching some chef trying to work out how much sausage and apple stuffing to shove up my cavity!

"...a big barbecue..."??? I just cannot get over how you're having Christmas in the SUMMER!

I know, that's such a northern-hemi-centric viewpoint, but it's so ingrained to me that Christmas equals winter, equals snow, icicles, sleigh rides, snowmen, hot cider, etc.

I will remember your tip about drinking a big glass of water between wine, it's a good one.

Congrats on another sensational loss Sue. You have been working so hard at your triathlon training -and it is showing.

LOL at the special cavity filling. I am never going to look at a turkey the same way again. ;D

great loss, i know what you mean i have xmas parties and birthdays coming up and there will be no point free friendly stuff at either, and to top it off my work xmas party they are all alcoholics so they will expect me to drink, im going to try my hardest not to drink but it will be hard

Fantastic loss Sue! The only way you would look like a Turkey during christmas is if you dressed up as one - for a work christmas function perhaps ;)

Have a great weekend!

Eww, where exactly was that stuffing going??? 1.3 kg loss is fantastic, especially with temptation everywhere you look. It is so hard to not overeat this time of year. Dont worry about the recovery week, your body needs it. Or you will end up like me, injured and grumpy from lack of recovery weeks!!!!

Gosh, I'm starting to dread all the parties coming up too. So much *good* food that I used to enjoy and I wonder how we will all go! All we can do is justt he best we can hey and make sure we enjoy ourselves too :-)

Brilliant loss, well done! Sounds like a busy week, but I love your strategy to dealing with Xmas Gifts from work.

Just remember the golden rule of making healthy choices and sensible servings - enjoy :-)

Yeah yeah YEAH! What a great loss. How you are still able to lose over this period is amazing to me! But you are very cool, nevertheless. Throw some motivation across the sea, will you? :)

BTW, I'm happy to help you out with the wine and chocolate if you ever need a hand. I'm very helpful with all that stuff.
