Ride the wave of enthusiasm

I've been to the gym almost every day for the last two weeks. I know that sounds like a lot, but there is method in my madness.
One of the things I've learned is:
Use my enthusiasm for something new to help build a habit.
So, at the moment I'm really loving the gym. I'm going 6 times a week. When the novelty wears off a bit in a few weeks, if I drop back to 4 or 5 times a week - it won't matter, because that will still be plenty. But, if I'd started at 4 times a week, I might struggle to maintain that.
If you're worried that I might be neglecting Moose, don't be. I go to the gym in the morning and he still gets his walk at night - although not always 5km these days!
Oh, by the way, take a look at my weight loss record. That's right, 30kg - gone forever!

Well done on another awesome loss!! 30kg is such an achievement! I agree with you - keep hitting the gym while you enjoy and when (if) the novelty wears off you can cut back.

30 kg gone! Wow! That is unreal! Congratulations.

I know for myself that if I go more than 3 times at the gym per week it all becomes a bit too much, so don't worry if you end up dropping it back. But do ride that wave while it lasts! Good on you.

Brilliant! It's so great when you find something you enjoy. I feel the same about cycling right now (morning + night) but I reckon I'll drop down to once a day soon enough. WOO HOO on 30kgs!!! This is very cool. I hope you have a great weekend :-)

I have to agree with your gym and walking enthusiasm. You see, I go to the gym five days a week. 1 day is for walking only and the other is for pure rest (eg; absolutely no physical activity).

From the very beginning of my weight loss quest, I followed the above and I eat healthy.

My height: 174cm
Gender: Male
Age: 31 years old

BEFORE:
Date Started: 22 October 2004
Beginning Weight: 109kg
Body Mass Index (BMI): 36 BMI (obese)

AFTER:
Today's date: 2 December 2005
Current Weight: 70kg
BMI: 23.1 (BMI)

ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!
Remember: "It does not matter how long it takes to get there, as long as you arrive"
