5, 4, 3, 2, 1...

The week has finally arrived, now it's just five days till the triathlon. I have a nice light training week, with none of my usual extras added in. I am doing no exercise in the mornings, so my alarm will be going at 6.30 instead of 5.30, to ensure I am well rested. I am not tracking my food this week, just watching what I eat to make sure it is healthy, with plenty of good proteins and carbs.

So, how do I feel about what is coming up on Sunday?

Pretty proud of myself, really. I have no doubts I will be able to complete this course. I may not swim like a fish, and my run is more of a trudge, but LOOK HOW FAR I'VE COME! This triathlon is more about how I got here than the event itself.

This time last year I weighed 132.5kg. A 3km walk on a level course was a major achievement. Walking up the stairs in our new house was a bit like climbing a mountain.

So, on Sunday, I may not be the thinnest or the fittest, but I think you'll be hard-pressed to find someone happier!

Just considering doing this is a major achievment showing a complete change in you since beginning your weight loss. The fact that you have committed and trained consistently and that you will be there eager to go is another major achievment. You are an inspiration Sue. We will be there with you in spirit egging you on and cheering like proud parents. I am sure your family are also extremely proud of you. This will be your day to soak up the praise and the sense of pride which will be shining out from your new thinner soul.

You are right - you may not be the fittest or the thinnest but I bet you are the most determined person on the track. When you see what you have accomplished in the past 12 months - you realise the big changes you have made in your life and realise just how far you have come.
We will all be cheering you on from across the sea - enjoy the race and have a fantastic day. Can't wait to read how you have done.
Take care and keep up the great job you are doing.
