Exercise obsession

I've had a huge week of exercise. This is what I've done (not counting when I take Moose for a walk).

Saturday - gym: half hour cardio and half hour resistance
Sunday - gym: half hour cardio and 45 minutes resistance
Monday - gym: 15 minutes cardio and half hour resistance, plus one hour aquafit session
Tuesday - gym: half hour cardio and half hour resistance
Wednesday - one hour deep water aqua
Thursday - gym: 45 minutes cardio, plus one hour aquakick session
Friday* - gym: half hour cardio and half hour resistance

I've now tried all the aqua sessions offered at the local pool, except pregnancy and Fifties Forward! The cost of these classes is covered in my gym membership. The two I enjoyed the most and felt I got the most benefit from were the deep water and the kickboxing ones, so I'm going to try and work in one of each most weeks from now on.

Using the pool is so different in winter compared to when I was training in summer. Then I'd just get out of the pool, wrap a towel around me and head home for a shower. No chance of doing that now!

*Normally Friday is my rest day, but I missed a gym session on Wednesday and needed to fit it in to meet my challenge of six sessions this week. I missed a session because I had to take Jake to the hospital with stomach pains in the middle of the night. After blood tests, chest xrays and morphine they'd got on top of the pain but couldn't find anything wrong. Appears to have been a one-off thing because he's fine now. We got home at 4.30am - he slept all day and got to miss school, I got three hours sleep and was only an hour late for work! I suppose it makes a change from going to the ER with rugby injuries.

Despite all that exercise I only lost 100 grams this week, but I'm figuring I added a fair bit of lean muscle.

Forecast for the weekend doesn't look too bad, so I may be able to fit in my 50km bike ride on Sunday.

Bloody hell! I'm feeling tired just reading about that. Good on you. I wish I could do that too! One day... hope Jake feels better too. I had a virus a few years ago that started just like that - the first day was just horrible pains and then two days later I was really really sick. Hope he doesn't get any worse. Good luck for your ride too.

Wow! 3 hours sleep - it made me tired just reading this post. Or maybe it was the amount of exercise you have done this week!

I love the sound of the deep water aqua...

That is absolutely fantastic and the best bit of all is that it sounds like you really enjoyed it too:) I love the idea of your winter challenge and am thinking of doing something similar myself (at a beginners level though!). Hope the challenge is going well for you :)

Great work out week
Bit of a worry middle of night trips to A+E Pleased to hear Jake is right now-hope it was just wind and won't return. Weather here still hasn't let me eve attempt to get bike out of shed so please think of me and send the warm (big emphasis on the word warm) bike riding fuzzies this way if you get out on Sunday. Have a great weekend.

Yes, and more muscle means it'll burn fat faster or something like that. Good going! Your blog is the first I've read since coming back and what a great inspiration to come back to :-)

Like I keep saying - You are a machine. I can't ever imagine doing that much exercise in one week! Hope you got your 50km bike ride in. At first I thought that must be a typo, but reading all of this makes me realise it's not!
Glad Jake is okay now.

A "fair" bit of lean muscle - now that's an understatement!!!

Wow - you certainly know how to work out!!!! That's heaps, but I better you feel absolutely fantastic after each session! Gotta love the endorphin hit :)

Hope you had a good weekend, and that Jake continues to be fine - going to hospital in the middle of the night certainly can be a scary thing.

EXCELLENT!!! Gooooo you! That is fabulous!!!

I dearly wish that my pool would start offering water aerobics again... I definately wanted to take them this summer. The only indoor pool in our area is about 45 minutes away... really too far to go on a regular basis for exercise. I do 45-60 minutes of cardio a day on my bike... and then do Curves workout 4-6 times a week. But I really WOULD love to add a water workout or two!
