No, thanks!

No, thanks, I don't actually need your weirdo fad diet.

Last week I bumped into someone who knew I've been losing weight, but hasn't seen me in a couple of months.

She was blown away by how much I've lost and showered me with compliments (something I'll never get tired of!).

Then, she told me all about this diet I just had to try - one of those things where you de-tox by eating nothing but raw veggies etc.

Have to say I was pretty dumbfounded by this! Sort of looked at her with my mouth open.

And managed not to say "Look, I've lost 35 kilos. I've done that by eating good food in controlled portions and by getting lots of exercise. What make you think I need this diet?"

I know she was just trying to help. But, really, I think my way is working.

I don't think most people can believe that we can actually lose weight by eating the proper foods in the proper quantities. I know who will keep their weight off - you, us, not those who go on fad diets because as soon as they go back to their old bad habits the weight will pile back on. You will be the one smiling in the end!

Isn't that the weirdest!? Now really, I think your way is working too LOL :-) I think that's a reflection of someone who has never succeeded in anything as life changing as what you've been doing...maybe, to understand? People like that mean well but I don't think they get it. Diets *pfft*.

Good on you Sue - everyone knows that fad diets don't work. I used to think that the only way to lose weight was by starving myself, but I've been proven wrong.

My husband David has also been doing WW with me, and at his old work place, two people there were doing a detox diet, drinking something that looked and tasted like cat's p**s! They drank the stuff all day and still ate their chocolate slice for morning tea and sausage rolls for lunch. And yet they were amazed that David was losing more weight than them!

Let's face it - if those kind of diets worked, we'd all be thin.

Your way is working, and you know it. Be proud of yourself, and keep up the great work.

LOL! How odd. I wonder if people actually think before speaking, sometimes. I mean really. She's just praised you for losing weight, and then wants to tell you HOW to lose weight? What the...??

I would have said exactly what you thought of saying!! You are living proof of what a change for life can do. That being said, it is great to eat raw veges, just not all bloody day long. Give me meat people!!!!!!!!!

Surely she should be asking yiou for advise - not giving it! You know where she'll end up - fat once more! You will keep the weight off because you are doing it the healthy way with a fantastic attitude!

I can't see the sense in recommending something, whether a diet or not, when someone is already having success with what they are already doing......once again I think it is people not being able to accept changes - change of lifestyle, diet, habits, food, size whatever - it's hard work, as you know, and you can see the changes paying off.

Lol - peoples only trying to help is sometimes very frustrating! u know what you've done works!

I think it's rude to give people unsolicited dieting advice any time and, in your case, plain weird as well. I wouldn't have held back... I'd have been like, hello one of us has lost 35 kilos here. By the way, I didn't realise you'd lost so much. That is incredible!
