Love your kids? Make them poo!

Anyone else seen it? An ad on TV recommending we feed (a famous brand fibre product) to our kids!

That's right folks! Forget about proper nutrition. Let your kids eat all the fat-filled fast food they want. Don't worry that their protein-rich, vegetable-poor diet is bunging up their bums. Just sprinkle a handful of this stuff on their sugary breakfast cereal and all those dietary short-comings will be solved.

Forget about teaching your kids about proper nutrition. Just show them there is a supplement for every need - including the need to poo. Don't worry that all that fatty meat is increasing their risk of colon cancer, because this fibrous wonder-food will fix all that.

Oh, please!

Crikey.
Wholegrain vegemite sandwiches and baked beans do the job at our house LOL

Haven't seen the ad yet but I totally agree with you.

Grape and kiwi fruit do it in our house (in case of emergency).

I have seen this ad. It's that one where they sprinkle the orange stuff on their food isn't it.

I looked at that and thought 1) Gee that's a good idea, then immediately 2) How ridiculous, why don't the kids just eat more vegetables!!

My two aren't the most vege friendly kids in the world, but I have made hiding them in food a fine art form, as well as constantly putting fresh cut up veges out as a snack alternative.

And as they both eat punnets and punnets of blueberries I think they are ok at that end (pun intended LOL)

I have sooooo not seen that ad yet! deplorable, how do they get away with being allowed to even advertise such crap? How's ya day going girl? Getting blown off the face of the earth down there??? We sure are!

We have an ad where they sprinkle the said "wonder powder" into spag bol - why not just add some pureed carrots or other vegies into the damn sauce I say. Seems so ridiculous to me. My son loves his vegies, he's regularly seen eating brocolli, carrots and mushrooms - oh not cauliflower though, mummy gets to eat all of that herself!! hahaha
Luckily I love it.

OMG. That is horrible. I haven't seen it. I still shudder at the thoght oflaxettes. I'm sure I was fed quite a few of them when I was young. Not good.

I have seen that add too & I thought it was shocking it was being advertised for children. I still remember being about 7 years old & Dad cutting off a piece of my cauliflower & saying I had to eat that bit, this was a nightly ruital, same for my older brother who swallowed his peas & corn with a glass of water like they were pills because he had to eat at least some of them. And now we both love our veges!
Do they really want to be dependant on this stuff all their life - I mean who cares about good nutrition as long as we can poop right??
Also remember being a youngster & the first add for this stuff came out - "I don't want to tell my friends I can't go bike riding because I'm consipated" - I think that resulted in the question, "mum, what does constipation mean?" LOL
