Boing!

Bloody hell! Was expecting to at least maintain, but I've gained.

But it's all good. These last 10 kilos may be taking forever, but I'm not letting it get me down. I know I could lose it quicker if I was really fanatical about my eating etc, but I'm pretty happy just cruising along and slowly (so slowly) getting the weight off. At least I'll have had plenty of practice for maintenance! And of course I have been sick this week...

A wet and cold weekend in store for Wellington. The rugby sideline is going to be such a fun place to be tomorrow (not), especially as I'll have Jake sulking alongside me because he's not allowed to play for a week.

I'm going through some advance empty nest syndrome at the moment. I was expecting Jake to be at home for at least another year while he was at university, but he and a mate have just announced their intention to go to England for a year. I'm all for the gap year concept, but not sure how I'll cope with the reality of my baby leaving home. Still, no firm plans yet. My food bills will certainly drop!

I know my kids are only 5 and 7 but OMG I don't want to go through the going overseas thing with my boys he he he... Big hugs my friend.. I reckon it is the hardest thing as a parent to go through.

LOL I've been practising maintainance for sometime now. I now that I've relaxed a bit and the urgency to get the weight off isn't there, but we will do it:)

Empty nest syndrome - memories of us seeing our daughter off to the UK and me walking around Wellington afterwards with tears pouring down my face. It doesn't really get easier but after a while you do accept that they are away - and it's one of the best experiences they can have:)

Empty nest syndrome is the best! I've loved having Andrew move out.. but then he's only a short drive away and not another country. The food bill definitely goes down plus I seem to have so much more free time which is weird when they are old enough to look after themselves long before they leave.

I tell ya, those last 10 kilos must love ya cos they don't want to leave. Maybe you could sneak them into your son's suitcase when he goes?

If he comes to the UK get him to come up to Scotland. I've got a few NZ mates here. Be happy to show him the sights and the rugby hot spots. (Scottish Rugby used to be a client of mine).

Keep at those last 10kg. It's not surprising they don't want to go anywhere - how long have you been together?

What a great reason to drop 10kgs and go on a European holiday to visit him!!

I wonder if the airlines will let you take your old weight in luggage with you - you will need it with all the new clothes you will buy...

Right, keep warm this weekend - you don't want that cold to take hold again :)

Oh god, Lachie has only just turned two and now you've got me all worried about when he leaves home!! Yikes. I like the slow and steady path to weight loss, it means it's more likely to stay away. Have a great weekend.

My 18year old is still at home, driving to Uni from here 55 mins... we have offered for him to stay on campus to no avail, and Id miss him too much, meanwhile the 16yr old has another year till he finishes, and like Jake wants a gap year in Uk playing sport.... the joys of parenthood,

Cheers
